There do seem to be a bunch of Ning communities popping up though, with varying levels of *actual* community (the Podiobooks Ning community for example appears all but dead)
It's like the huge phpBB forum explosions that happened when it was THE COOL technology. Bummer, because it creates a bunch of small splintered communities that inevitably mostly die. 
Incidentally, Deirdre, while I think of it - thank you so much for this awesome site!

Thanks mcm. We'll see how long it takes for that place to become another Voiceoveruniverse (hopefully never). For now it looks promising and I like that you have to be approved and at least list some work you've done. I also like that it has a focus on music composing, which is a niche side gig of mine.
