VO-BB - 20 YEARS OLD!

Hi Everybody,

I'm a newbie.... Been in the business behind the scenes for quite a while, but in the past year have decided to put myself in the line of fire on and off camera. I've read some books, perused this site, done lots of research, got my website up and running, put the word out locally and have gotten some work! I'm totally diggin' it! I'm certainly seeking the next step in educating myself in V.O. and/or getting some coaching. Since I live in CT, there is an Edge Studio relatively nearby. Has anyone had any experience in utilizing this center, whether here, NY, DC or LA? Or does anyone have a stellar recommendation for a local CT coach? A Rhode Island coach could work too, since I make frequent visits there anyway. Thanks!

Welcome to the pool, Joel! Lots of nifty dolphins here, each with their own unique tricks. When you're not swimming, I suggest making friends with the thread archives. Some of the wisest dolphin wisdom can be found therein.

Welcome to the VO-BB! I just had lunch with Randye Kaye, a voice actor who also teaches at the Edge Studio facility in Connecticut. I'd say that'd be a great place to start, as she's representative of the high quality of staff they use.

Harlan's list is great, too...or just hang out here long enough, and you'll learn all the ropes!
