I AM COLD.
I didn't bring cool weather clothes on this trip to LA since it's freakin'SUMMER. It is so much hotter up in Maine that it's ridiculous. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Deirdre,
What a strange situation. I guess about 6 months from now things will be quite different. (Not much comfort right at the moment, though.) I hope it gets warmer there, soon. _________________ Be well,

That happened to me too. I just brought a very light sweater with me when I left NY - and I think temps dropped into the 50's. Next trip I bring the jacket. |

Patrick,
Just remember to stop when you get to the subway platform. Don't keep going down, you know what I mean? _________________ Be well,

Patrick,
It's not the going down that's the problem, it's the keeping on. _________________ Be well,

She'll know it's September when the smoke from the brush fires blot out the smog... or there's a knock on your door at 4:00AM, and a fireman says, "Leave now." _________________ "Bailey"

Oh yeah. Forgot to mention that it's our hottest month because we're literally on fire. _________________ the Amy Snively family of brands for all your branded thing needs.

Man, I lived here for 5 years in the 70's and 80's and I just don't remember the timing of the "seasons".
Thanks for the warning. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

When I moved to Southern California from Wisconsin when I was twelve, it was in the middle of January. When I started school, I couldn't understand why most of the kids were wearing jackets 'cause it was really warm. After about two years, I started wearing a coat in the wintertime.
First thing I noticed after moving to California was there wasn't any weather. Next thing was that the weather bureau was always wrong. In Wisconsin, the forecast ran something like "Cloudy with a high of 14, with snow flurries starting at 2:13 PM". And almost always, the snow flurries would start at 2:13. In California, on the rare times they forecast any weather, they always got it wrong. I figured it was because the weather bureau didn't get much practice. Although, when it did rain, I couldn't believe how much rain came down. When I started working in radio, the forcast was always the same... "Night and morning low clouds, otherwise hazy sunshine. Highs at the coast xx, in the valleys xx. (The xxs would depend on the "season".)
As Amy pointed out, It will soon be warm enough for you in "The Valley". The September fires are usually just "Practice fires".. The real ones hit in November. _________________ Travis
