And Bob Souer helped me determine that it was AOK dialing out even though I didn;t have my end cabled into my studio.
DING DONG!! I could see Sir Bob's transmission just fine.
I have a question— can you go direct from a channel strip into a Zephyr?
I have been including my Mackie in the mix as a traffic cop, but it's adding an amplifier into the chain.
Do you need right and left channels to send at 128?
I just don't know how I would monitor and adjust levels and stuff.
The Mackie certainly makes it easy. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Deirdre,
I used to run a single audio line from my mixer into a Zephyr's left input (back when I had one) and it worked just dandy that way in 128K Mono mode. The trick is that while it's using both channels it's binding them into a single mono feed so you only need one audio channel to go in and one to come out. _________________ Be well,

How's LA treating you so far?
If you want to go all purist and stuff, you can Y your preamp output and split to your Zephyr and your mixer for monitoring purposes.
I for one have never done this, never had a complaint using an Aux send from a Mackie mixer. I like the added control you get when an engineer wants more, just turn the Aux send knob and it doesn't screw with your monitoring levels or recording levels. You don't need to feed both inputs, just one since it summed to mono for L2 Mono 128. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

I'll need an Aux tutorial, I think. I've not used that channel on my fabby little Mackie.
Otherwise, LA is AWESOME thanks to Mike Sommer and you and Amy Snively and Johnny Taylor and IKEA.
I still need to get some fat insulation at Viking, and build up the the height of the walls of my booth which seems to be becoming less of a "hut" and more of a "yurt". _________________ DBCooperVO.com

DB,
The "purist" "y-cable" way is how we did it in our line test. However if you want an Aux tutorial, I can help you with that as well. Let me know.
