I have a very short video that I want to strip the sound from - is there anything out there that is free that will allow me to do this? It is currently an .avi file. Is there any way I can pull the sound into AA 3 and then rerecord over it?

Thanks.

Hm. I could do it with Quicktime Pro, but not sure about other programs.

Depending on how "very short" it is, you might just be better off playing it in real time and recording the audio into the computer as you play it. That's what I usually end up doing after spending an inordinate amount of time researching ways to do it the right way. Wink

elaine - if you can put it somewhere for me to download (you send it, ftp ...) i'll do it for you. won't take but a few minutes.

PM me.

Zwei-Stein Video Editor 3.01 looks like a viable free editor. i have never used it - but it would seem to do anything you might want/need. that said, if this is a one-time deal, the learning curve may not be worth it - so my offer stands.

Quicktime Pro is $29.99 and worth every penny if you do any amount of video manipulation like that.

Thanks so much to Todd for taking the time to fix up the video for me.
