VO-BB - 20 YEARS OLD!

Hi, everyone!

I'm Larry Garrison (actually, my name is Larry Hernandez, but I don't want to mislead voice-seekers into thinking that I speak Spanish.) I've been a member for a couple of months, and I want to say "Thank You!" for all of the information you share on this board. I've learned so many things here. There is also a real sense of "family" that is so very cool!

I was the last Booth Announcer that the CBS affiliate in Orlando hired back in the late 70's. I'm still there, although the job is now more audio-centered. However, I'm still the go-to for most of the commercial work that we do. My problem is that I've had no coaching and very little direction over the years, so I've just kind of made it up as I've gone along.

So now, it's time for me to launch a VO career outside of the Central Florida area. Spent the last few years building a home studio, and in a few weeks I'll be one of Nancy Wolfson's students (she had some very nice things to say about a bunch of you guys!)

Thanks again for all of the information and advice that you share here. I'm still very much in the learning mode, so I'll continue to be much more of a "reader", than a "contributor" for quite awhile.

Philip, in response to your reply, I can tell you that my big toe does not shampoo the happy garage on the 7th of Saturday. Bob, I'll tell Nancy you said hi. I'm pretty sure that just after I tell her, she'll let me know how I SHOULD have delivered the line.
