Tony Curtis past last night of a heart attack, he was 85.
Here is a TV Guide piece, via Cartoon Brew, on his Flintstones gig.

Acoustics are counter-intuitive. If one thing is certain about acoustics, it is that if anything seems obvious it is probably wrong.

Tony Curtis was huge, but like recently departed Eddie Fisher, had long years of dormancy late in life, perhaps costing him the lifetime achievement honors he rightly deserved. _________________ http://MichaelSchoen.com |

Tony lived in Las Vegas these last years of his.
He was often seen around town....gave to charities with donations of his paintings, and even guested on our Weather segment on the news a few times.
An original to be sure. The movies he did with Burt Lancaster stick out in my mind the most.
"Some Like it Hot" goes down in the American Film Institute os the #1 comedy film of all time.

When I was a very young lad I remember vacationing with the family in San Francisco. We were waiting in the lobby of a restaurant and Tony Curtis (at the peak of his career) walked by. My mother came close to swooning as she whispered to me who he was. I told her this story decades later and she denied being so taken by him, but even then I knew what a swoon was. He was a handsome devil back the day.
Rest well, and thanks for the good laughs at the movies.....
