Better performances sitting at the desk? or Better performances standing or sitting at the stand?

What are you most comfortable with?

I prefer leaning against a stool, or standing.

I don't like reading at a desk, the resonance of the desktop can effect the audio. And a lot of people have their desks set against a wall, this creates another corner for bass to build up-- more resonance.

I like it on the floor.

Oh wait, is this the breast cancer awareness post? It's not? Nevermind.

I sit in a drafters stool and have my monitor and keyboard on an arm swing mounted to the wall.

Jeffrey: that's really interesting - you don't find that sitting limits your ability to expand your diaphragm? (I can imagine why you'd want to sit for long durations though - it would be hell on the knees otherwise...)

Really depends on the job don't you think?

Lots of body language in animation so standing I think would be a preference. I've encouraged radio air talent to stand to increase their energy levels and expand their breathing as "sitting" can make them sound sleepy and too relaxed-I prefer to stand for most work as it requires an energetic performance and it is almost always less than three minutes.

Audiobooks, sitting seems to work better for me since endurance is required. The most I seem to have at the moment is two hours with sips of water after each page. These performers who can go four hours...I say BRAVO!

Only if I've recently had a heavy meal. But normally, no. If I'm standing for long periods of time on an audiobook, my legs start to hurt and my knees need to be flexed. I end up focusing my energy on staying comfortable instead of the material.
