The new Adobe Audition for Mac will have nearly everything you need to mold voiceover to just about any sound you like. You just need to know what the target you want sounds like and the tweaks to make the adjustments.
Remember, in a virtual world--it's all in your mind. Wink

Winter officially begins when X-mas decorations and displays start to appear in stores. So it's been winter since mid-September.

coupla things:

1) will this put an end to all the folks who run PC for the sole purpose of using a hacked AA 1.5, 2.0 or 3.0?

2) will they have figured out some way to offer this program for less than $150? rather than the $350 for AA 3.0? can you say "overpriced"?

once they do this - wouldn't it just make sense to roll it into cs6 (or whatever is next) possibly replacing sound booth.

Guys, I don't mean to play thread police - really - but this is an interesting conversation that has me again wondering about going Mac next time to replace my PC with Sound Forge 9 (which I am pretty happy with, btw). You might get more attention for this discussion in a new thread.

(edit): I see this WAS made into a new thread - yay!

Honestly, the only reason I didn't consider an Apple product when I bought my last computer was because I know Adobe Audition inside and out and have no wish start over with something new. I know, boot camp, yada yada.

Audition for Mac would seriously make me consider switching platforms next time around the upgrade block.

And you can run AA on a Mac,, Because you can run widows on Mac.

That's what I did for Marc Cashman. He can boot in Mac OS or in Windows 7, he has two computers in one.

I've stated on Working Voice Actor Group -with some flack from Dan Lenard- that Sound Booth is going away. There is not need for Adobe to service two platforms.

Yeah, I know. I've been a lifelong PC guy, but boy some of the new Macs make me drool. I worked with a guy a while back on some video editing on one. Wow.

Sound Booth:

Adobe has described it as being "in the spirit of SoundEdit 16 and Cool Edit 2000."
Wow, way to look forward with that one fellas.

i'm with mike but not in a "virtual machine" kind of way (please stop me if i'm misunderstanding) - i'm dual-booting to win7 & snow leopard right now from a PC and lovin' it! however - the only thing i'm REALLY doing in windows is audition. so if i can get audition on the mac partition i can't see very many reasons to boot into windows on my PC.

Mike...so if I understand what you are saying, if I had a MAC, I could install Windows 7 in a dual boot configuration. Can you do it the other way around as well? Can you purchase a copy of OS X and run it PC hardware?

You are understanding correctly- One can Dual boot in Mac. You need Mac's BootCamp program to install Windows on a Mac.

Technically you can install Mac's OS on a PC, and make yourself a Hackintosh.
