Can anyone recommend a program that converts .pdf's back to excel or word? Adobe is wicked expensive, even the older versions I'm finding on ebay. Thanks!

Hey Pam.

I think you can use this one on a trial basis and do one page pdfs to docs without having to pay. Anything more and you have to upgrade. I could be wrong.

I'm not 100% sure but I believe it is possible to do what you want with Open Office -- and that's free.

Open Office is great for exporting Hobo LaughingF files, but sadly it cannot import them.

Hey Pam, check out Hobo LaughingF Xchange:

http://www.tracker-software.com/product/pdf-xchange-pro

I use their "lite" version for Hobo LaughingF reading and marking up. The Pro version is only $75, and on the list of features it says:

Convert Hobo LaughingF to .DOC & .RTF

also - if one uses google docs - and who wouldn't? you can create/upload your document & convert it to a number of different formats - including pdf - for free --- with the added bonus of being able to save said document on/in the "cloud" and off of your desktop.

I just tried this on-line aHobo Tounge and it worked fine.

http://www.pdfonline.com/pdf2word/index.asp

It took a while but that's because I had it convert a 52 page document.

Unless you need the formatting. Just highlight the text and copy paste it into whatever document you want. I do it all the time.
Text formatting transfers OK but columns etc usually will not. And I don't usually do anything with Excel, so I am not sure about that.
