On the one hand I can’t believe I’m helping to spread this stuff around. On the other, maybe it shows we’re evolving just a little bit. On yet another, I think some of them have to be modern spoofs. On yet another hand, maybe I’m evolving into a Hindu deity – 4 arms and counting!

I particularly like Santa pushing cigarettes. In my dating days, (long ago) it seemed like I frequently would meet my "girlfriend at the time's" parents at Christmas. Interestingly, they would almost always present me with the same gift, a lovely carton of Marlboros all wrapped up and usually sporting a lovely bow. My gift to them was almost always a bottle of Chivas.
I'm glad I'm not dating now, particularly since I no longer smoke or drink.
I'm guessing cigarette gift giving, even beyonnd prison walls, probably still goes over in many parts of the country, just as I am sure more than a few people wouldn't look askance at most of these ads.
C'mon gals, any of you up for a nice Tiparillo? _________________ j.s. gilbert

I thought those pills dealt with the once a month hysteria that woman had to deal with.
The word hysteria is quite interesting:
In the Western world, until the seventeenth century, hysteria referred to a medical condition thought to be particular to women and caused by disturbances of the uterus (from the Greek ὑστέρα "hystera" = uterus). The origin of the term hysteria is commonly attributed to Hippocrates, even though the term isn't used in the writings that are collectively known as the Hippocratic corpus.[1] The Hippocratic corpus refer to a variety of illness symptoms, such as suffocation and Heracles' disease, that were supposedly caused by the movement of a woman's uterus to various locations within her body as it became light and dry due to a lack of bodily fluids.[1] One passage recommends pregnancy to cure such symptoms, ostensibly because intercourse will "moisten" the womb and facilitate blood circulation within the body.[1]
