Follow a success at work by more action, rather than sitting back and thinking that's enough for now. You must concentrate on staying ahead rather than slipping back into the land of also-rans.

Excellent advice, Banksey. I was just thinking that I need to be a bit more proactive. First, I have to get caught up though.... sigh.

That is great advice Philip. Thanks for putting into words what I keep trying not to think about! Safe travels this week!

I got that same fortune in my cookie the other day. Did you have the Kung Pao Shrimp too?

I got yours - "Poverty and bitterness will butter no gathering moss so sailor take warning" I feel a great deal is lost in the translation from Cantonese to English.

Shrimps were nice though weren't they? Never seen a Shrimp the size of a Squirrel before!

"Wang Mai" I shouted "This Shrimp isn't cooked properly"

"How you know dah?" he enquired.

"It just handed me my Chopstick!"

The greatest danger in being self-employed is complacency.

I think it was summed up the other day when a producer had just finsihed working with me and said "Thanks, you're done".

To which I said, "no, thank you!!!"

It was a moment.

On the other hand, my friend John, who is quite the actor in his own right, generally introduces me to people as "This is my friend J.S. He has no filters"

I'm guessing I'll never be confused with Saint Gilbert of Dornoch

Then again, so much is lost when you try to translate from Cantonese to English.

Here's one I got at that same restaurant that was in a fortune cookie that had become lodged in a lion's head meatball. The English translation here however is perfectly clear. "Chimney cars ride in parallel circles when the doctor is ignored."
