Hi guys,
Two posts in two days; I'm almost a "regular" on this BB...Wink
A question: is an Audacity "manual" that folks might recommend? I know there are a few different options online --I'm wondering if people find some more useful than others. I'm actually taking part in a webinar soon which will hopefully fill in some of the blanks for me, but in the meantime (and even after) would love to have a reference guide I can turn to.

Right now I am doing VERY basic recording and editing. And am still confused about all the different files and saving them and then accessing them (to edit in the future) It seems once I make the MP3 and I try to go back to the original .AUP file, Audacity won't play it for me. I'm guessing it has something to do with the backup folder Audacity creates --and me trying to clear up space on my computer and deleting these? Anyway, just one of many questions I have..so would appreciate any tips/advice on a reference guide.
Thanks so much!!!

Audacity's manual is essentially the online documentation on the Audacity website and wiki. Tht is the best source I found for information on how to use it.

The AUP file is the project file, but does not contain any audio data. I believe it is actually a text file, but i am not 100% certain of that. As you surmised, the actual audio data is in the many files in subfolders. Don't delete these or you won't be able to use your project.
