I know most everyone here is long past the entry level gear level, but I'm trying to help a young lady get a jump start for minimum investment.
This would be more for auditions than actual production.
Any suggestions for an under $100 USB interface with phantom power.
I've also got some old stuff here, but would prefer to start
her on something with modern drivers etc.
(If you don't want to admit you know something on the forum just
drop me note. )
henry at my user name dot com.

Nothing new under $100.
A M-Audio fast track is $150.
Look around on ebay or craigalist for something used. _________________ The Blog:

Acoustics are counter-intuitive. If one thing is certain about acoustics, it is that if anything seems obvious it is probably wrong. |

M-Audio Fast Track is a great entry-level interface. The Behringer X1204 USB mixer is another good option at the basic level. _________________ Corey "Vox Man" Snow

i agree with brad - spend the extra $50 and go with the micport pro ... even when/if she upgrades it'll be useful elsewhere. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

Totally agree with Mr. Kafer. Find a nice NOS tube or Groove Tubes 12AX7A to put in, and go to town. _________________ Brad Venable

Shure X2u for $100 budget is your best bet. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.
