|
|
Hello Everybody!
I am trying to use my Dell Laptop for practice and learning, but I am having problems with the audio recording.
Everything I record, no matter which audio program I use, or which input source I use, the playback is sowed down. The is no problem playing pre-recorded files, but the files I record are too slow.
I have searched the internet for a solution but cannot find one.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated! |

Sounds like a sample rate mismatch. What are you using to record (or what would you prefer to use), and what OS do you run? _________________ Corey "Vox Man" Snow

I've tried Adobe Sound Booth, Audacity, and some other free program; it all comes out the same.
I'm running XP Pro. I've used the built in Mic as well as a Blue Snow Ball USB, playback comes out slow. |

Is it a consistent slowdown, like it's playing at 3/4 speed, or is it a lot of chops and jumps, etc? If the latter, you're probably having resource problems- your PC may not be able to get data fast enough. One way to improve that is to increase the recording buffer - you can do this in Audacity via the options dialog.
If the former, start with these:
Check the properties of your microphone(s), on the advanced tab, and verify their sample rate.
Also, double-check that you've updated your system with the latest drivers, some USB chipsets may have clocking issues that can lead to odd stuff when recording. _________________ Corey "Vox Man" Snow

Got it! Checked the mic and audio properties, found that the Blue snow Ball did not save as the selected input deice.
Thanks so much for your help! |
