I recently booked my first principal on-camera role in a kids TV pilot filming in Atlanta in June, called "The Solomon Bunch." The pilot's being produced as an hour-length movie, and even if it doesn't get picked up as a series the director is considering producing them as individual on-demand or DVD release episodes provided he finds a distributor.
The character I'm playing is an actor/puppeteer/children's entertainer. So it will kind of be like playing myself, and the character was actually based on me to begin with (the director is a friend of mine). And I'm playing the villain too! The plot involves my character being mistaken for a maniac heard torturing people in the woods. In truth, it's just the puppeteer rehearsing character voices as he strolls through the woods.
Besides playing this puppeteer, I'm also going to be voicing a handful of puppet characters for the film, and the director plans to sneak me into another scene playing yet another role as an inside joke. But I'll save that little trivia bit for when the movie's done.
