You beat me to it! A friend of mine sent me a link about that earlier today. I'm going to enter it myself.
Here's mine:

I think you can vote every day, so be sure to check out both Jeff and mine. And one assumes other VO-BBers that toss their hat in the ring.
By the way, if you haven't read American Gods, it's a truly remarkable piece of work. I can't recommend it highly enough. _________________ Corey "Vox Man" Snow

Well given that it's ONLY a popularity contest. I don't think either of us is going to win. Some yokel who has a snowball mic and 3000 facebook friends is going to win. _________________ Jeff

Yup- but it's still fun! I can't help but be giddy about it, I'm a huge fan of Gaiman's work and this is one of my favorites by him. I'm trying to figure out how the multiple rounds of voting works.
And man, there's some seriously cringe-worthy entries. I was thinking "You couldn't close the window to at least slightly dull the trucks honking outside?" _________________ Corey "Vox Man" Snow

I think it's brilliant marketing for the book. _________________ Diane

Round 1 - popular vote to narrow down the 20 finalists. Who will all probably suck. And no, that's not sour grapes. Corey is right. They are asstastic.
Round 2 - Neil himself (or people from HarperCollins) will choose the winner.
And yes, Diane, this is a great publicity stunt, equalled only by the Aflac publicity stunt. Being "outraged" by Gilbert Godfrey has been a godsend for them. _________________ Jeff

Just commenting here to commend Jeffrey for his extremely appropriate use of "asstastic". _________________ Corey "Vox Man" Snow

Unfortunately, I think you hit the nail on the head there except that the top twenty, with their thousands of friends, will all be using the built-in mics on their smart-phones or laptops.
... but I'll throw my hat into the ring as well just for the hell of it. I could win a trip to New... oh, wait, I live there

Rats... I wanted to sound like Philip Banks, but unfortunately the only thing we seem to share is a pair of initials!
Seriously though, I'm full of admiration for the likes of you guys... it's not just a voice which people can listen to for hours, it's the stamina required to do it. I've started working-out to prepare myself! _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

It appears that the "tailoring" clause will not be used if a yokel wins. All yokels buy strictly off the rack. _________________ "Bailey"

Did anyone else notice that the author looks exactly like a young Dustin Hoffman?!

Neil Gaiman is one of my favorite authors -- and one of my favorite audiobook narrators as well. One of the few authors who can read their own work so well. The previous audio of this book was narrated by George Guidall, who did a truly fabulous job with it. The full cast treatment now with this gimmick (fun though it be) -- obviously intended to create a new buzz for a book that runs 20 plus hours. And a very adult book at that. _________________ Diane

Yes, it's an amazing book! I actually recorded a sample a while back to practice my audio book narration. A friend of mine sent me the link, too. Can't hurt to give it a shot!
EDIT: I just threw my hat in the ring. Break a leg, everyone! _________________ Tom Dheere - The "H" is Silent, but I'm Not!
