It seems to me that those of us who do voice over for a living and have some sort of presence online are getting lots and lots of people contacting us about breaking into the business.

In fact, we tend to see the same simple questions asked here and in almost every other site that has anything to do with v.o..

Unfortunately many noobs don't want to hear all you need to do to become a professional. They want the answer to their question, how do you get the work.

. I can't tell you how many times someone at computer will ask me a question that could easily be Googled. Not an opinion, but something like "can you give me directions to the theater?"
