So I installed PT 8.0.3 and the MBox 2 on my new Macbook Pro last night. While I didn't do any actual recording yet I did do some poking around to see how it functions in comparison to Windows.

One question: In Windows Ctl/spacebar puts you in record provided the the channel is armed. I would think that Cmnd/spacebar would do the same on the Mac but....it didn't work for me.

Am I missing something?

I use the number 3 to start recording and the number 1 to stop. That's on my desktop with a keypad.

on my laptop, I use the num lock and do the same thing. 3 to record, 1 to stop.

Thanks Monk. I figured out my issue. The Cmnd/spacebar combination was assigned to "Spotlight". I just had to change that in settings to something else so it would work as a PoToo's command.

Wokring great now!

F12 also works.
But like the Spotlight key, you have to disable the F12 Expose mapping.
It's one of those things that Pro Tools warns you about during the install, but one often skips past without reading.

I guess this one did. There's a bit to get used to vs Windows here but...I'm diggin it. Like playing in a new neighborhood.

Got to do a little test recording with it yesterday as well. Very nice!

I have another somewhat related issue....

I'm on PT 8 Windows and PT 7.4.2 Mac.... the horizontal zoom/scroll works fine with the PT 8 Win, (Ctrl + scroll wheel)... PT 7.4.2 Mac with a Mighty Mouse if very erratic (option + scroll wheel), no matter how much I adjust the tracking in preferences, and I've been resorting to Ctrl R-T for horizontal scrolling...not ideal, but ok ..

I've read that one of the updates to PT 8 for Mac has resolved the horizontal scroll/Mighty Mouse issue....true?
