Hello, VO-BB!

I've lurked here a little bit, and figured it was time to jump in and introduce myself. My name is Kristin, and I've been doing voice-overs for about 18 years... When the economy tanked, I found myself unable to rely solely on agents to find me work, so I entered the wonderful world of online vo marketing. I built a purty booth, gave myself a crash course in audio editing, and several years later, here I still am.

What I love most about the online vo community is the sense of camaraderie that exists there. In my city, there are a handful of us that work fairly steadily, and we see each other in the studios, etc... but we're just acquaintances, at the most. Since joining some vo forums and playing on the P2P sites, I've met some people that I can truly call friends, that are always on the other end of an email with help or an encouraging word.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all (well, the ones I haven't already met -- I recognize some names from another forum... Smile )

Also, are there any embarrassing initiation rituals I need to be made aware of...? I'm always up for a good, clean hazing. Laugh

Welcome, Kristin...it's good to have you here. Though I'm afraid that you may come to regret your question about the hazing rituals. Hope your insurance is paid up. Wink

Welcome Kristin to our strange little corner of the world - or Dolphin pool where we stay relatively safe from. The VO sharks. As for "snark" you'll need to ask Diane.

Rituals... Hmmmm. Ask Amy about the legend of watercress.

Uh, I didn't know I was a member. Embarrassed

I asked the Powers That Be for a User ID, and no one wrote back or anything, so I thought maybe I smelled.

I was coming here to write them again to see if I could PRETTY PLEASE have a User ID... and found out I could log in.

<------- Noob.

Oh, and I'll get right on the KP duty...

I must beg to differ.
I sent you a note about your registration on April 30th.

I'm glad you tried it out and found your way in.
Welcome to the party!

Asking about rituals was definitely the right - er, wrong, er - thing to do.

Welcome to the VO-BB!

You passed the ritual phase - getting a note from Mom (D.B.). Have fun! and share the knowledge.

Hi Kristin

Welcome

They barely tolerate me here.

But I occasionally post just to annoy them.
