Hi all. Is it me or are there lots of people finding and contacting voiceovers asking to jobs for nothing? I've had several over the last couple of weeks and had another today. I have voiced a students' final video project, a video for a charity and am currently mulling over this current email! Is this a regular occurence? I'm hoping that all this good karma will be richly rewarded!! _________________ https://www.darrenaltman.com/

I've gotten a few of those, and depending on who they are, I will consider doing their projects. Most of the pro bono work I've done student projects, which can be fun and edgy at times. Karma does reward -- I did a "freebie" for a student animation project a couple of years ago and he just wrote to say that the game he did is being picked up as an iPhone a and that all of us who did the VO will be getting some money from it. So, sometimes good things do happen.

I've done a couple if everyone else is volunteering their time. And just a note: Your time spent volunteering your services for a non-profit is NOT tax deductible. _________________ Jeff

These requests come my way from time to time. I've even had a couple of British hospital radio stations contact me over the years for some imaging work. If the person asking is polite and sincere, and their cause seems reasonable, I usually help them out.

Not long ago I was asked by a former HS classmate to do a freebie promoting the "MD Faerie festival" thankfully they did'nt need the spot after all..I'd feel kinda uncomfortable talking about "faeries" |
