VO-BB - 20 YEARS OLD!

Lee Gordon

I have conspired with Peter O'Connell to meet him in Boston for dinner on Thursday, June 23rd.

The current plan is to meet at his hotel, the Marriott Renaissance Waterfront, 606 Congress Street, at 6 PM and then proceed to a suitable dining location, as yet to be determined.

Should any VO-BBsters in or around the Beantown area wish to join us, we would be grateful for the additional company. Just let Peter or me know that you are coming so we don't wander off without you.

Seriously!? I will have to check the almighty kitchen calendar to see what my maternal chauffeuring duties are- but if the decks are clear- I would totally love to invite myself to this dining experience.

Still not 100% sure about tonight Lee- I talked to Peter last night and said I'd call as we got closer to the magic dinner hour. I also told him to bring an umbrella to Boston. Smile

ME TOO ME TOO! I just got Peter's voicemail from last night and thought I missed it (I was teaching yoga) but it's tonight and not tomorrow. wOOt. I, too, need to clear the deck (figuratively because last time I literally cleared the deck I then started painting it and then I proceeded to end up in the ER after a nasty ladder spill. That was 3 weeks ago but that is such a thread jack so I'll stop now...hee).

Peter, I'll call you. If I'd known you were coming I would have made sure the weather was nicer for you. Chuck, are you out there? It would be great to see you, too.

There are many great restaurants right there, one of which is just outside the door - Legal Seafood being one of the best. The Union Oyster House is probably a 10 minute walk away and is also fantastic. mmmmmmmm

Well I'm out... Cry

It's the last day of school for the big kid and we had promised that after swim class we would do something crazy to celebrate the beginning of summer and her fantastic report card. It's important for the family so family rules.

While I'm bummed to miss the meet-up, I'm awfully proud of my second grader to be.

As disappointed as Peter & I were that neither Moe nor Mandy were able to join us, we had a very enjoyable dinner at a little place called Sal's Ristorante and Pizzaria in Southie (celebrating their 25th year). It wasn't a diner or a drive-in but we would not have been surprised had Guy Fieri pulled up in his red Camaro.
We attempted to dine at any number of places in the vicinity of Peter's hotel but they all had long lines because a large number of folks were grabbing an early dinner before attending a concert by these guys Florence and the Machine at the nearby pavilion.
As hip as we both are, neither Peter nor I had ever heard of them.
