I was going through my Pilot's Flying Log Book and picked a date at random then did a search. I can tell you when I first flew the aeroplane in the photograph below and when I last flew it. I am also able to tell you for how long I flew it and where I went.

OK... I'll play
This is my espresso machine. I can talk for hours about the essence and philosophy of espresso. I blend and roast my own beans and can convince you that there are more variables in the espresso process from bean to cup than there are in the production of a fine wine. I can tell you why you're wasting your time if you don't have a unit with an E61 head. I can rant for hours about the dire state of coffee in the US.
I will bore you. I promise.
Cheers

I went through my memory banks and remembered when I first drove one of these and when I last drove it. My mother decided she wanted one because she remembered her father drove one when she was a child. It was my car to drive to school and on dates from my 16th birthday until my high school graduation. Other kids in hot rods would pull up along side of me and rev their engines. I'd hit my horn: AhOOOOOOOgah!
I can also tell you about the time I took it to the drag races and won a trophy...because I was the only one in my engine class.

I have a loft bed from IKEA that has a metal ladder. The ladder was killing my feet to climb it, so my friend Fritz the Mic Builder designed a tread with a teak top, slotted pine bottom, square u-bolts, and a rubber stopper to keep shins from getting barked on the bar of the U-bolt assembly.
This is clearly over-engineered, but it works.

Ahh Peter. While nowhere near your level of nerdliness, I can agree about the dire state of coffee much too frequently encountered. I have been truly spoiled by the availability of this shop and its founder's uber-perfectionistic pursuit of the best Northern Italian roast and perfect espresso.
I am really going to miss them when I leave town! Fortunately, Portland is no slouch when it comes to coffee, so I think I will survive. _________________ jen@jengosnell.com

My avatar picture is my dog Charlie. He is a good old sheherd-mix boy. Recently his vet decided that she didn't like the look of a large fat mass that had been growing over his right-front shoulder, so she went in and surgically extracted it. It weighed two pounds!! She even took pictures of it to show me. Yuck!! Oh...and let me tell you about when Charlie drank ocean water for the first time......
Isn't this facinating?! |

In my previous life, I was in charge of testing audio for video games. lest you think that was exciting, one of my jobs in a game called Fable 2, was to make sure that the footstep sounds played in every single spot on every single map.
Until we found a better way to do it, I spent much time simply running and running and running in the game. _________________ Jeff
