I was going to wait until the last possible second before the Early Bird special expired -- 'cause that's how I roll -- but Faffy's warning encouraged me to pull my thumbs out of their traditional parking place and get with the program NOW.

As they say in all the best account-executive-written radio spots, "I'm glad I did."

BTW, if you Google "Faffcon" you get more than 11,000 hits!

I thought I was going to make it (LOVED Portland), then I realized that I'd be nearing critical mass right around that time - we're doing extensive remodeling right now, preparing the house for my parents to move in with us in....

September.

I really enjoy all the handling (aka 'faffling') and don't mind the shipping too much, but I'm going to have to wait until things settle here a bit.

Sadly, I shall not make it this time to the CooCooForCocoaville follies (hey, two outta three ain't bad). I've decided to pour my remaining self-edumacation dollars for the year into a two-day seminar with one of the VO consulting luminaries who's visiting our fair city later this month. I've never been to one of these, even though I've taught a few, but I guess better late than never.

Amy, do you have any tentative dates/location for Faffcon 4 and 5 in 2012? As soon as you know, can you let us know? I'd then pencil it in and be able to plan around it. This time, I didn't know the dates for Faffcon 3 until after I'd already agreed to this other project I'm committed to at the same time. These guys usually book me six to eight months in advance (or even a year), so knowing Faffcon dates would allow me to do their gigs AND spend quality time with Faffy more often.
