That's a great deal! Do you get the transformer with it too? |

They didn't have any transformers in stock...had to go to a place in Nashville for that. Still out the door, signed sealed and delivered the whole thing was less than $420. _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.

The more the merrier Mary! :) I couldn't pass up a good deal on such a benchmark mic. Plus it enables me to have a mic at the desk position for longer narration projects that can be a pain in the booth. _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.

Still a great deal on a great mic. Funny how you and I end up using the same stuff. |

They had two of them, so there could be another still there if you want one in your bathroom, Chuck. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

I was told the second one has noise issues.....of course you probably wouldn't notice with the flushing........ _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.

***Update***
Got the mic yesterday. All of the EQ that I was using to "fix" the Rode's bit of "tubby-ness" is switched off.
It sounds great!
I A/B'd it to Joe Cip's mic chain reading one of the script he did for Hallmark in last nights session. (aside from the obvious performance differences) it sounds damn good! _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.

Yeah, the NTG3 always needs a HPF to approximate a 416. Glad it worked out well for you, it was a swell deal! _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

...and now, without the need for eq, my preamp options are much broader.
Uh Oh......:) _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.

Chuck,
I had a 415T a couple of years ago. To my ear it's basically a 416 but a tad warmer. It's a great mic and a steal compared to buying a 416. ( I couldn't hear much difference,if any---they both deliver the same vibe and that Sennheiser shotgun sound)
I sold mine in a fit of gear restlessness, but that's another story. |
