Oh, sure, Courvoisier...show up after a radio silence of weeks and weeks JUST to promote a favorite project!

Well...it's not only that. You see...members of this fine group uniquely shaped the course of this year's September promotion to bring awareness to the Voice Over business... so I wanted to get back to everyone.

You'll remember last year's "VOICE OVER APPRECIATION MONTH "? Although it was by almost any measure, a big success -- I wanted to take more time to prepare, develop, and refine THIS year's September event.

When I posted a query several months ago on the VO-BB during the planning stages, I heard a lot of feedback here that reflected well....some "different" opinions than I expected. But I listened, and incorporated some of those ideas into September 2011's event.

I hope you'll take the time to visit the VOAT site. VOAT stands for Voice Over Awareness Today. The website is VOAToday.com.

I'm playing off the homonym vote / voat to invite you to "vote" on a different question each week. The questions are all fairly simple, but hopefully the ANSWERS (threaded for all to see) will be edifying for all who participate. Hence, this is (again) a community-building and supporting event for VO's.

Oh, and did I mention PRIZES are involved? Yep, some pretty serious prizes donated by big players in the industry.... and awarded once-a-week at random to all who help answer that week's question.

No one is making any money off this event. No email lists are being compiled. No big marketing campaigns are going to result. It's just a fun participatory event that hopefully helps in sharing of information.

I think that is the key to both last year's "National Voiceover Month" and this new iteration.
