Sounds like you're talking about converting complex number in geometric form to polar or plotting polar coordinates and using de Moivre's formula to connect complex numbers.

I hear ya brother. I've done a lot of math tutorials for grade schoolers in the past few years and what they're having to learn is much more complex, or at least complex sounding, than what I dealt with in high school. Maybe that's why this country is sucking more and more in math skills?
