You might find this Martha Stewart exercise useful if you're working in front of a typical copy or black music stand on a day to day basis.
Home Depot has buckets of free 3"x3" carpet samples in bins separated by colors and patterns. Two handfuls of carpet samples, a hot glue gun and about 5 minutes of your time is all you need to accessorize your copy stand. In addition to being effective managing reflections, it's like an immediate upgrade to the appearance of your booth.

It's been ages since I've done this but carpet stores often sell their outdated samples which are usually a bit over 12 by 18 inches, perfect for most music stands. I've paid a buck a piece. No gluing required, but not nearly as artistic!

I think I'll get the shag carpet samples and add a lava lamp for ambience |
