It just wasn't good enough in the end. While it wasn't eight hours of recorded material, I'd probably spent eight hours in total with it. My conscientious mind ended up saying "no" after two days of turning it over in my head.
Have you done similar things yourself? |

8 hours? no, I've never done that. Usually 30 minutes into it I can tell if today is just not the day. _________________ Jeff

True enough, Dan-O. Unfortunately, this wasn't for paid work. You are correct that it is a constant learning process, but some days it feels really heavy. I do realise that being conscientious is a decent trait to have. |

i have to agree with kafer ... sometimes it's just best to ride your bike or fix the sink or ... break something in the garage. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

Oooh— break stuff. . . .
I have done weeks of work on a movie project I ultimately abandoned, but I enjoyed the process and taught myself tons about how to use my programs.
So— it's all education unless it just plain sucks and you didn't increase your skill set. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Few months ago, I got about 30 minutes into a chapter once and could not for the life of me make it work. Eventually I just threw up my hands, grumbled a bit and threw in the towel in favor of some Team Fortress 2.
I should have kept the track, it was kind of funny at the end with me getting more and more irritated with the way it was going (summary: A lot of cursing, from someone who learned how in the Army). But sadly, I figured I had no need for it and trashed it.
Still, practice is always a good thing. _________________ Corey "Vox Man" Snow
