David, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I only knew Mike from his posts here, but I always looked forward to his knowledge about anything related to sound. His replies were always very thorough and I learned a lot from reading his posts. I am so sorry for your loss. _________________ Tony |

David,
Thank you for stopping by and letting us know what is going on. I would like to offer my deepest condolences to you and the family.
I am incredibly sad at this horrible tragedy.
Mike was kind and generous, I am very grateful for the help he has given me.
He didn't really ask for anything in return, he only charged me for the material at cost and I insisted on paying him extra for his time and expertise. He was not a bad contractor who ripped off people like is suggested by some individuals on that blog and I can understand why the idea that people would look at him that way was unbearable for him.
I'll be there at the memorial.
He will forever be one of the good people I've met who changed my life for the better.
I wish he had known how many people truly cared about him. _________________ www.clairedodin.com |

I've been lurking on an off for the past year or two, so this one really hit me by surprise. I can't add anything that hasn't been said, but it's a real tragedy and loss to the VO community. There aren't a lot of folks out there who had his knowledge, let alone one that made himself so freely available to the VO community.
He shall be missed. _________________ Voiceovers by Gregory Houser

I look forward to meeting you tomorrow, David, and seeing some of the VO community who are fortunate enough to live in the SoCal area to make the memorial service. Mike and I hosted a workshop together at the Don LaFontaine Voiceover Lab in the SAG Foundation several times, and he advised me on proper acoustic treatment for the space. I hope to be able to sponsor a table in the lab in his name with the help of the vast number of people who benefitted from his knowledge... _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.
