I noticed this deal today at the W00T.gif" alt="W00T" border="0" /> site. I have one of these, and it is an excellent netbook. Great battery life, nice keyboard, and fanless for quieter operation (though I would double check this first).

I use mine as part of my travel rig, so silence was importance (though I had to swap out the HD for a Samsung SSD for totallly silent operation). The seller has 4.4 out of 5 starts in over 1500 reviews, so they seem legit. This is a killer deal. (I paid $225 for a used one on eBay only a few months ago!).

wow...thanks....just scored one of these bad boys...

the 1012 mini is fanless, as is my Hackintosh mini 10v (which BTW is discontinued and is the last Dell hardware config to be able to run Linux)

So I'm assuming it's as silent as the mini 10v, which is dead quiet. It does run very hot though if its running a while, and I had to get one of those laptop coolers. I'd be curious to know if an SSD would cool it down a bit.

The Hackintosh is great, although it is a big PITA as far as running programs that require screen resolution. I was actually able to run Logic 8 in some fashion, but have noticed some features not functioning correctly.

The SSD would not reduce heat much at all, since the biggest culprit is the chip itself, that's what most larger units have a fan for.

It would, however eliminate the sound of the hard drive reading and writing data..... which is probably the only sound that little gem makes.
