Who can remember the comedian/actor whose radio talk-show host character used the tag line "The Best Looking Guy You'll Ever Hear"?
a. Where would we have heard this character? - 20 points
b. Name the comedian - 30 points
c. What was the character's name? - 50 points
Are you "hip" enough to remember this? |

If they would have had Google when I was in school...I'd be a doctor now. A highly sued doctor...but I digress.
Dr. Don Rose used to use the phrase ""the best looking guy you'll ever hear". He was on WQXI around these parts before heading to WFIL and then to San Francisco. Very funny. Very talented. Very nice man. One of my favorite DDR line:
Mary had a bathing suit.
The latest style, no doubt.
And when she got inside of it
She was more than halfway out.
<Begin old man remembering>
And, while I'm telling old jock stories. One Friday my program director and I were in Atlanta and stopped by QXI and asked to see the program director...John Leader...unannounced. He took us in and treated us like family. Very nice gentleman and obvious why he's considered so highly. It's how you treat people. That kind of kindness is easy to pass on to others. And, I am delighted to see that he's continued to do so well. Not hard to understand why.

Dan-O,
a. 20 points
b. 30 points
c. 50 points
total 100 points
minus 99 points for Googling.
Bill, you get the bonus points for remembering Dr. Don (RIP)
re: Dan-O. The character's name from Hawaii Five-O referred to as Dan-O was DAN WILLIAMS. Thought you might like to know that.
Sincerely,
Dan Williams
OK - Dan Williams trivia time! We now know that Hawaii Five-O featured a character named Dan Williams. Who can name ANOTHER television show that featured a character with the SAME NAME?? (NO GOOGLING THIS TIME!) |

and while we're trivialising --
who can name a probably little-known song that ends with a small "character" voice saying
"book 'em Dan-O"
and the singing group that performed it
and who wrote it |

How do you like my new avatar? This whole conversation inspired me to go find an old James MacArthur image. (God, I love Google!) |

I'm an old guy - so I think I remember that was the character played by Danny Thomas in "Make Room For Daddy". |

Hiwaii 5-0 ! McGarrett says that. We used to do a radio skit about it and always said, "Book 'em Dan Zero". Ventures did the theme song.
Love the avitar. Looks like Dan Zero is doing VO's! |
