As many of you will know I am a great Social Photographist and use my art to make statements on our society.
The piece below may upset some viewers because of the anger but I feel it is worth sharing.
Needless to say it is called "Control and Complacency"

I think the magical thing here is the underlying metaphor of control and complacency within a bounded time-frame. For me, this would not have worked at !0:56 or 10:58, but has captured, perfectly, the moment that is 10:57. I think we can all relate to that. Well done Philip. If the voiceoverist thing doesn't work out for you, then I'd start getting your photographerising skills in front of some of the London gallery owners. _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

i see your point, bish. it is interesting, however, how 10:57 in the UK is only 10:52 in the USA. some sort of conversion factor no doubt.
i particularly enjoy the minimalist use of the rear de-fogger. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

But that's the beauty of art... we see what we want to see. My predisposition to translate the actual numbers recorded into something I wanted to see clearly shows the image's transcendent, or, if I could be so bold, surreal nature. _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

10.52 is the Post Modernist's 10.57 as 57 is one of the few time relevant prime numbers, if applied ironically ...See how complacent you have become? ...The POWER of suggestion through Social Photography. |

I call this "The Banksea: Look for her eyes watching you through the breaking waves". Appropriated à la Richard Prince.

I'm still struggling with the "Auto" vs "Auto" symbolism and what it says about man's inhumanity to man.
But that's probably just a personal thing I'll have to deal with myself.
I'm going to go meditate on my navel for a while.
Now where did I put that bag of oranges?? _________________ Scott R. Pollak

The most stunning part of this surrealist photography is the iconic red vehicle which might be interpreted as a metaphor for ones career going downhill after giving large sums of money to a vo potentate. _________________ jonahcummings |
