...as a thought for every day.
Hope, compassion, integrity, sensitivity. These are the most vital qualities we possess. Yet we undervalue these. We become mesmerised by the mundane - or fascinated by the financial. It's almost as if the light of joy is too dazzling, so we turn our eyes towards whatever reflects it least! How else do we explain our propensity to feed flames of fear while starving optimism of oxygen? Whatever you lack now, there is one thing you have in abundance, faith. That's all your heart needs and that's all your life needs now. |

I like that.
I'm thinking of selling t-shirts and stuff with that printed on it.
Thanks Philip _________________ j.s. gilbert

Nothing like waxing philosophical the day after St Patrick's. I too was struck by the poetical reverberations of "Flames of fear/Optimism of Oxygen"
I did a show last night for a standing room overflow crowd at a Naples Country Club. In the midst of the merriment I found myself wondering if they really cared about each other. So I found Phillip's observations particulary poignant today. The amazing virtues he articulated, it seems to me, must be actively pursued. We have to avoid the pomposity of passivity and the irrelevance of inaction. Lennon summed up most of those virtues quite succinctly and basically by just saying "All you need is Love."
Your writing approaches poetry today Phillip. _________________ There are rules to the Universe. Learn them and prosper. www.HumbleVoiceover.com

I have certainly found this to be true. It requires a constant reminding of oneself to reset the mindset toward the achievements, opportunity, joy, the positive outlook and expectations.
I don't have as good a system for reminding myself to practice this as I would like, yet, but it's on my list to implement in the near future. Thanks for the prod, Philip. _________________ jen@jengosnell.com

That also struck me. Funny thing about the human race isn't it? It's almost as though life is set up to be a test.
And at some point you realize if you change the language you change the attitude. Not easy in our society, but less stressful in the long run. Thank you Bansksy for the reminder. _________________ www.melissaeXelberth.com

You also wrote in all caps which, as I understand the rules, is also a no-no.
Thank you for providing me with the negative example. This is how I learn!
