Diane's right... I should have added Coffee blender and roaster... and (like so many other people) - Barman!

For some reason Fran's "Cannoli filler" made me laugh out load... probably because I'm still a little punchy from the LAX-JFK red-eye which had me surrounded by screaming children and painfully sleepless.

I didn't include hobbies.

If only I could have been a cannoli filler ... cool

English translation... "I put the jam in the doughnuts"

... and I forgot for me... Woolworth's counter assistant and part-time sausage-maker for Wall's.

Philip
The subject of CAN rouses a memory… a historical bit.
The first metal can were made by the firm Donkin, Hall and Gambill they had a canning company that was first established in Bermondsey in 1812. One of their first customers were Campbell Soup. No really the British Navy were the first major customer.

LOL! I knew putting cannoli filler in there would get a chuckle, but really no other way to say it Sticking out Tongue

This is a cannoli filled with whipped ricotta cheese mixed with sugar and not sure what else (sounds gross, but it's deliciously sweet...really close to cream cheese). Other fillings are vanilla and chocolate.

Termini Bros. (the name on the wrapper) is the bakery I worked for in high school

Oh. My. Gawd.

That cannoli reminds me of going to Mike's Pastry in Boston's North End on a Sunday morning back in the old days... we lined up to get in.

Stable mucker-outer
Counter girl
Chicken deep-fryer
Collections caller for large department store
Cashier
Gas Station attendant (during the oil embargo in the 70's)
Short-order cook
Waitress in Chinese restaurant in an 18 state that served ice-cream cocktails (I gained 20 pounds)
Graphic Artist in TV station before computers

After finishing grad school I had one more non-media related job before being able to make a living as a producer/writer/talent - I sold stuff in a store that sold cooking stuff and worked with the owner editing her cookbooks.

Hah, fun thread idea.

I've had a varied and interesting career. In the vague order as I recall them:

Typesetter (with hot type and photosetting)
Pasteup Artist (when it still used X-acto knives and wax!)
Theater staff (stage manager, lighting, genenal roustabout)
Dairy Queen cook, Burger King cook
Ropemaker/Waterskiing Equipment Assembler
Artillery Fire Direction Specialist/Paratrooper/Machinegunner
Bus and Truck Driver
Administrative Assistant
Teacher/Consul/tant
Consultant/Software Developer/Web Developer
Database, Windows Phone and PHP developer
Voice Actor/Audiobook Narrator/Audio Engineer

(I also had a brief flirtation with spinning music in a club, didn't last long)

I did bounce around a bit when I was younger. I forgot to add in the time I spent doing irrigation systems in California (summer job) a stint working at a grocery store deli (remind me to tell you the story of how I almost lost my finger) and demolition/construction for a few months building a mini-storage site here in Olympia.

The vast bulk of that list is before I joined the military. Afterward my career tracked mostly in tech until I branched into VO. Wink

I love a thread where you can get Cannoli Stuffer & Machinegunner as legitimate answers to the same question.

Seriously, what a diverse bunch of reprobates we are! cool

Ed... Thanks for asking the question.

Without listing all my 'achievements', favorite to date was as a singing Christmas Tree - and parents might like to hear that I may or may not have been for a very short stint, Dorothy the Dinosaur of the Wiggles fame (damn those non-disclosures). Apparently I was too short for Wags the Dog Lips Are Sealed
