Hi Everyone!

I just finished producing my new narration demo. Please feel free to take a listen and provide me with your most honest feedback. I've got thick e-skin!

Thanks to anyone who offers feedback and hopefully I'll see most of you at VOICE 2012 in 2 days!

Hey Jordan,

You have a really nice, smooth voice. I like it!

Here's what I thought about the demo itself: There were times that felt like I was listening to promos rather than a narration demo. I believe the music choices had a lot to do with that. I suppose I'm used to more subdued music when listening to a narrator. I think it's important that the music not upstage the vocals in a narration demo since it is a vehicle to showcase your vocal talents rather than production skills. That said, you sir, have some talent!

Thanks for sharing.

Hope you're enjoying VOICE 2012!

I'd definitely pull the music back down in most cases, and since it sounds like you're mostly narrating to video there should be some spacing as you narrate shot after shot. Now you can tighten it up a bit for a demo because the breaks between lines in a finished product can be forever, but buyers need to hear that you can read stand alone lines and support the picture on screen.

Hello everyone! Thank you for your replies and I totally agree about the more "promoish" sound of the demo. I'll be producing a new E-learning or Corporate narration demo here soon. When that new demo is online I'll probably retitle this current demo to "TV Narration" or something like that.

I also agree that the music bed could probably be toned down a bit to allow the VO narration to really be showcased even more. I'm getting mixed feedback on that specific point.

Thanks again guys - I really appreciate your honest feedback!

Always go for the "over 40" mix.
