|

PT LE8 has a 2 or 3 second delay whenever I begin to record to a usb2 flash drive. I have always recorded to an external usb hdd and have had no glitches. I do a lot of long form narration. I like that the big new flash drives are solid state, fast, small and can now accomodate hours of V/O. But this delay is vexing. Recording takes place as normal once it starts. I stop and start enough during my recording sessions that I don't like to use a preroll, so flash won't be a soution for me if I can't fix this. I have created a session on the hdd, and copied it to the flash drive and the problem stays with the flash drive. Any ideas??? |

Well, it’s me again. I apparently have acquired a defective flash drive. Recording to external usb hdd is glitch free. Recording to known good flash drive is also glitch free. New flash drive will be returned to the vendor from whence it came. There is even a pause before saving a simple Word document. Also, the thing gets too warm. Please disregard previous post. Sorry to bother y’all. If I had just been a bit more thorough in my troubleshooting, these posts would have been unnecessary. But its been nice talking to you.
Have a nice day.

well, i believe it began as a college drinking game (back when the drinking age was 18!).
one drinks a shot or a chugs a beer or some such every time carol (his secretary) says "hi bob"
or, another version is whenever anyone on the show says "hi bob"
on the topic, bob newhart warns: don't hi bob and drive. _________________ sitting at #8, though not as present as I'd like to be. Hello!

WOW! I play that game a lot and didn’t even know it! Way easier than that stupid ping pong ball game. What a great board. |

Yes, you cerainly may! Excellent choice..."Hi Bob!" (everyone respond accordingly)
I also like the fact that you keep it close to your work area _________________ "Dammit Jim, I'm a voice actor, not an audio engineer!"

OMG! Mark, that is SO not my work space. I just grabbed a random image off the interwebs for its humor value. My actual work space is pictured below. It is just a corner of my den, but it serves. I am amazed the stuff you can get on CraigsList. I have to replace those monitors though. I'm thinking Bose 201.
