Hi, everyone.

Below is a link to my brand new commercial VO demo. I'm hoping that some of the veterans here might be willing to listen to it and post some feedback - good, bad, or otherwise. I want to move forward trying to find some work, but not until the material I'm presenting is ready to go.

I know that you all are VO pros who are busy with your own careers, so I appreciate any time or energy you are able to devote to helping me out.

Thanks for your time and consideration!

Well, you're certainly consistent. Everything sounds almost the same. Same pitch, same tempo, same style, same mic, same room. Just different words. And that's not necessarily a BAD thing. There is a school of thought out there that your demo bits should all be in a similar vocal style. But not this similar.

You're good at this particular, narrow, style. The young, energetic read is popular. However, I'd love to hear some kind of variety. For example, something slower, something with heartfelt passion, something very personal, something funny.

Get your website going and get this demo up there and start getting noticed, but I also recommend coming up with other bits to substitute in your next demo.

Bruce's points are very good--Also, for this demo, if you shifted 4 next to 1, it would give a listener something a little different vocally--Just work either 2 or 3 in there a bit later--You probably don't need both.

You're getting there Kevie. As was said above, it does sound like the same thing over and over...but mostly for the first four segments or so. I'd re-sequence to show more different "shades" of your brand...especially in the first 15-20 seconds. If those first four cuts best represent your core sound/brand...then use one at the top, re-visit it in the middle and then once more to close the demo.

Way better than our last go 'round!

Bruce, Chuck, and ballenberg -

Thanks so much for taking the time to listen to my demo and provide such thoughtful feedback. I'll make the sequence changes that were suggested and see how that affects the sound of the demo. I really appreciate such specific advice on that!

And Bruce, thanks for serving it up on a platter for me: slower, heartfelt, humorous elements needed. I'll start moving in that direction.

One message I'm getting here is that it's safe to move on to next step: website. But...demo needs to be tweaked in the short term and ultimately I need to diversify my elements and show more range.

Again, thanks everyone for your input here! You rock!

Kevin
