Hi,
I'm thinking about using ACTUAL WORK for a new commercial demo. Here's a video montage of the clips that would make up the new demo
Video Montage
and here is my current demo, which is about 4 years old.
Current Demo
Trying to decide whether to use the actual work, stick with the current one, or ???? Any input you have is appreciated. Thanks! |

that van ad is funny!
your current demo has more variety of sound, imo. i'd mix in a few more among the video vo clips for more flavuh. _________________ sitting at #8, though not as present as I'd like to be. Hello!

Personally, I only think the Hocking College and NASCAR spots from your video collage are equal to or better than anything on your audio demo. IF this the hand you're playing with then I'd reshuffle among those pieces. Just think about what would sound good today, in 2012, as you choose.

Just because it's actual paid work doesn't mean the performance/direction is necessarily better than demo-only pieces... in fact, from my experience the exact opposite can be true.
I'm with Bruce, the NASCAR and college spots are the standouts to me from the video stuff if you're set on updating the audio demo. _________________ Chris Rice - Noisemaker

thanks for the input gang....was thinking that after finally getting some fairly high profile gigs that they might make good demo material
I'm pretty much with you though on your observations |
