Hi! How much you would charge for 100 20-30 second web videos? Would you charge extra if they want a second finished take for each video? If so, how much? Thanks!

$35 per video x 200. Assuming they are not for major player and that would include alt take.

A finished take is a finished take.... Effectively doubling the size of the job. That's a lot of work. Don't underprice your time.

And Phillip's right.... The profile (and the pockets) of the client DO make a difference. 200 web videos is a significant web campaign if commercial. 200 training videos is a significant commitment to a corporate infrastructure. Part of pricing the job is to understand the value of the finished product to the buyer. What it's worth to them affects what you're worth to them. Just ask Bob Souer, who gets considerably more from some clients than others for his time.

That said.... It sounds like a good opportunity at the right price. Go get 'em, tiger. Inoccent

BTW it's a power tool company that operates in Europe.

I initially "guessed" $50-$75 per script to them (so I have PLENTY of room to go down on price) and asked some specific questions. Turns out they actually want the two takes in one sound file unedited so that will have an effect on price. So now I can lower my bid!

So... They'll handle editing and production? Sweet! Good luck.

If I might offer a suggestion, I would have prices for certain numbers of scripts. I have had this kind of thing come up before, quoting for xx number of scripts, give them a price based on that number, then halfway through find out there will be less. So now if a client were to ask for a quote on 100 videos, I would give quotes based on up to say 50, 75 and 100. Obviously the more you get, the lower the price would be.

Congrats on the gig though...sounds like it should be enough to keep you off the streets and out of gangs.

At least for a week or so. Smile

Less than a week, then I go to FaffCon!

The numbers look big to start with... but it's actually only an hour's worth of stuff... OK, double that if you do alternate takes. Add some time for the file juggling and, especially for a long-form man like yourself, I'd say Todd's estimate is good.

That way, you've got plenty of time to play with the gang... the Faffcon Gang! Laugh

Mainly we just hang out in the bar muttering amongst ourselves about your appearance at Faffcon #3 and trying to work out that card trick Wink

If it's Festool, you can charge the top end of the price scale. They do.
