I seem to recall a couple of folks tipping this pre on here.
I've got one coming on approval at the end of this week and I'm wondering what to expect?
I'm hoping for ultra clean, high headroom, low noise but impressive "girth".
What do you think? Love to hear your views.... _________________ Colin Day - UK Voiceover

Yu beat me to saying anything about it!
The Maag PreQ4 is one of my "secret weapons". Cliff Maag and his group do a great job. Don't forget they also have a plug-in.

It's a kindly pre - even without the air band. Bags of headroom, super quiet and - to my ears - not super quick (a good thing in my book). _________________ Colin Day - UK Voiceover

Just ordered another one. There's some magic in this pre even without the airband. _________________ Colin Day - UK Voiceover

It's the magic dust the Maag's use.
Just wait until you use Airband and make your recordings really sing. I understand U2 or some other group had seven of them for a session and after finishing the album the engineer said he would have used more if he could have found them. (They are selling very well in Europe, and so-so in the USA - guess the Yanks don't have a sophisticated enough palate.
Congrat's on buying a second PreQ4.
