|
|
I was having a little vocal trouble this morning -- just having to clear my throat a lot, bottoming out on the ends of sentences, that sort of thing...
I took a lunch break, and ordered onion rings, because... well, I wanted them. They're onions in ring-form, and they're delicious.
Went back to the script, and SAILED through it, with dulcet warm tones. Thanks to the onion grease, I'm supposing...
So you heard it from me -- eat onion rings, and your vocal troubles will disappear. Your butt will expand, but that's a small price to pay, don't you think...? _________________ Always look on the bright side of life.

That sounds like a great solution! I have heard if people using olive oil, so the oil makes sense. There is a definitely distinction between oil and grease. I get all gloppy with greasy foods. |

Could also be the salt.
I often eat salty snacks like pretzels or pita chips at session breaks for audio books or other long projects.
Either way... Yum! _________________ "When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro."

So, I'm guessing eating an entire "Bloomin' Onion" before a session wouldn't be a good idea, though. _________________ Charter Member: Threadjackers Local 420 |

I tried swishing with oil, and just couldn't keep it up. Not enough benefit (for me) to justify drinking oil..plus I kept getting a tiny bit on my fingers. I am an oil and grease nazi when it comes to my gear...especially the keyboard. I get flashbacks from when I was a kid, and my brother would hand me a Nintendo controller after eating chips. Aaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!! |

Interesting on the oil - makes sense.
However, for me, raw onions (say in a sandwich) are like Kryptonite for my voice. Dries my mouth and throat right up.
Green tea also dries up my mouth (odd) but hey, I have coconut oil in my pantry, so I'll add that to my next cup. Thanks for the tip, Amy!
I quit drinking coffee last month, that has really made a difference. _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover

Don't knock it until you've tried it. I use an IV, with a Canola Oil drip. It works wonders. Every once in a while I'll slide out of my chair, but it's a small price to pay! _________________ Never do anything you wouldn't want to explain to the Paramedics
