makes all the difference.
stay with me here ...
this is my 1970 kirby classic 1CR - my grandma bought it new from the kirby guy who came to her door. when i got married almost 24 years ago - she gave it to me. it has been sitting in the garage for a year now because the light came on - but the motor didn't run & i have been using a sub-standard dirt-removal tool in my home.
this morning liz & i were having a conversation about "the right tool for the job" as it relates to voice over (word2wav) and life in general. and it's absolutely true. wether it's software, hardware, a good quality vacuum or the right size wrench (spanner for some) - life is a heckuva lot easier if you use the right tool.
btw - it was a failed safety switch in the kirby that would not allow the motor to turn ... i wired around it and all is well. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

Two things:
A) Point well taken.
2) Why does it not surprise me at all that Todd wired around the safety switch? _________________ Doug Turkel (tur-KELL)

My family had a Kirby when I was a kid. Man, that thing was durable. I wish I still had it. _________________ Corey "Vox Man" Snow

As a voiceoverist (and a slob), this is the only Kirby I am familiar with.

That brings back memories. I recall having a Kirby sales guy at the house back in the day. It was gone midnight when he left (without a sale) and even then he had to be forcibly ejected!
Right tools for the job is a creed here. And Word2Wav is one of those tools that is worth every penny. _________________ Colin Day - UK Voiceover

Pretty sure that's illegal, except in Nevada. _________________ Always look on the bright side of life.

Wow! It's funny how a little thing like a vacuum cleaner can bring back a flood of memories. That's the exact same vacuum that my folks had in the 70s. Big, heavy, powerful, stocky SOB! Damn near inhaled the cat home to glory one day! _________________ "Dammit Jim, I'm a voice actor, not an audio engineer!"

Except for the color of the bag, that looks exactly like the unit the cleaning crew at my old radio station used. I call them a "cleaning crew," but based upon the results, it appears their actual function was to redistribute the dirt. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.
