... all reasons why it looks like I'll be EDITING audio today instead of RECORDING.

I feel your pain, Scott. My deceased neighbor's horror show of a house is being demolished, fifty year old trees cut down foundation filled in and septic yanked out.
And then Fort Lewis is doing night flights of some kind.
Never a dull moment in this biz! _________________ Corey "Vox Man" Snow

All of those plus my neighbour (who I shared a wall with) playing trombone at all hours = why I am so glad I finally moved. |

Scott, I'll trade you for the McMansion going up two doors away.
Will it ever be finished?
There goes the neighborhood. |

The snowblowers started up today at my place. I've added those and my personal (least) favorites. We're only a couple shy - who wants to finish us off?
On the 12th day of recording, my microphone picked up...
10 cawing crows
9 aircraft takeoffs
8 musician neighbors
7 chatting adults
6 running kid feet
5 barking dogs
4 giant trucks
3 snowblowers
2 construction sites
...and a stomach growling all the darn time
Seems like we should get a cricket in the ceiling in there somewhere... _________________ Kendra Hoffman

Well done! I agreed about the chirping. Maybe 12 chirping crickets . That is a lot of crickets though, and I don't think X had quite that large a problem. |

My neighbours use their leaf blower daily. Practically on a schedule. And they have one tree and a smallish yard. It doesn't even make sense.
And after they're done with their leaf blower, they take out their ATVs and circle them on the lawn. Small circles over and over.
And then they all work on their cars. 5 of them. Not one sounds like it has a muffler.
I gave up recording at home a while ago. I'm so grateful for my go-to audio engineer 2 towns over. He's brilliant at his job and doesn't have my neighbours. (>.<); _________________ www.AlannaOBrien.com |

We have a large church and the church's school about 200 feet away from us across a little vale. I swear, swear, swear they have gardeners there at least twice a week. Always with the blowers they're blowing! And it's a big place.
The 100+ kids playing and shouting during each recess throughout the day? I can't hear a peep in the studio. But the blowers?? Oi.

...and the occasional low flying (they always seem low) HELICOPTER--I live on the flight path--evidently--of the region's (Northen VA) only level-1 trauma center, hell it's only about 2 miles away as the bird flies. That with the police helo, the President's helos which like to come over every couple days and the various military ones to and from the Pentagon-I suppose or from any of the other 150 military bases in the area. That helicopter noise is simply inescapable!
