Yep! The books I'm recording now are loaded with grasps and rasps and gasps ... oh the multiple takes! ... and now they're spending a long time traveling through an area called "the Wastes".
Now if one of the characters jumps on a ship and "clasps the hasps", I shall track that author down and give him a piece of my mind.

My apologies, Liz. I hate trying to speak a language I don't know. I retract my hatred of French as a universal. Please forgive me.
Please don't hit me. |

Liz is awesome. She helped me out hugely with this book I'm working on, sending me French pronunciations of a bunch of very silly things, including these two gems:
Voulez-vous une femme por ce soir, monsieur?
Voulez-vous un garcon pour ce soir?
I have to admit, I never thought I'd have to perform as a pimp in Ho Chi Minh City in 1985 speaking French. _________________ Corey "Vox Man" Snow

Yes, Liz helped me immensely too, with French and with some advice on handling a family member who sliding into Alzheimer's.
Dang it! We need a huggy emoticon over there with the rest of the smilies! _________________ Charter Member: Threadjackers Local 420 |

French was my father's native tongue (Courvoisier?...are you kidding me?)
I asked him once the equivalent of the American verbal exchange:
"Thanks!"
"You're welcome!"
He told me the French had no phrasing for "You're welcome"
...but then again the French are kinda that way.
As for words I have trouble pronouncing (do we ever get tired of these threads?...no!):
SATURDAY
SIMILARLY,
Oh, and said on the news tonite: JUDICIAL DISCIPLINE COMMISSION
