I have two habits, Clive my chosen lifestyle partner, will insist that one of them is lying to him and my best friend Dorcar the Unicorn Slayer, the other one is mental Forex.
The latter habit was developed during my time as leader of the Roman Catholic Church (Pope). As you are probably aware the Roman Catholic faith involves working "across borders" and so knowing how much an incense stick costs in Boliva is quite useful.
In my present career as "Top Movie Trailer voice*" if I want a six figure income early in the year I merely convert Sterling into US dollars. Some of my clients are in the Americas and so they pay me in the aforementioned US dollars and to spent it I then convert it into Sterling. For ease of tracking when I do a job in US dollars I put a converted amount into my accounts so I can keep account. GOOD! Yesterday a payment hit my bank account and I didn't recognise it, couldn't think for one moment from whence or whom it came, I had no name just a reference number. I called my bank. Dollar payment from agent on the west coast. Mmmmmmm, that's a lot of money they have over paid my by at least a factor of two ...Why?
This is SOOOOOOOO funny! I am used to converting currency so when I saw the number (Wait for it, this is hysterical) in my accounts and the source of the work I converted the amount from US dollars into Sterling ...
....BUT ....I HAD ALREADY DONE IT!
I told that story last night at "Group" and they were all so taken by it that they had to wait for me to leave before they could laugh ... AMAZING!
Now, I have 4,000 stories like that and have offered my services to Faffcamp as the Top Speaker. Amy is so thrilled she is speechless. When she eventually calms down I'll get some sort of response and the offer of a massive fee .... Which I'll remember not to convert ...TWICE ...LOL!

When I travel abroad, which is like Kansas only without the flat vowel sounds, I always use Amsterdam as my connection point. As a former member of MI6 (long before Tom Cruise put it in the planning stage) I am able to buy "stuff" from an Ex-Cambodian War Lord named, Lazy Boy Reclyner and get through Customs without being stopped. I'll email you a sample as an attachment - WARNING It will make your printer really stink. |

To be fair Currency Exchange knowledge may be legal in Cholerado but in most states it is still considered unAmerican or witchcraft so the comment was revulant. |

Walk into almost any High Street bank in the UK and ask for wads of foreign dosh and you'll get it on the spot (or very easily... I was fascinated to see that The Bank of Scotland offers free home delivery if you phone in your order!). I went to my local HSBC (only one hour away from that sanctuary for suspicious foreign types that is NYC) to get some pounds, and the staff was totally befuddled as to how to do it. Eventually, they found out... and they be able to get them in a week... but first I had to sign a piece of paper saying I wasn't a terrorist buying foreign currency for nefarious purposes.
So Philip, I think your last statement was actually more accurate than you imagine _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

Had you read the document closely you would've noticed that all 50p coins are supplied without detonators. |
