What to do?

1 - Ask direct questions and don't be sidetracked ...Get THE answer.

2 - Identify waste in your business. Time and money spent must get either a measurable return or saving.

3 - If you do the same as every other VO to market yourself the best you can expect is the same result or more likely worse.

4 - If your goal for this year does not put a knot in your tummy revise it until it does.

5 - Good advice on "how to.." also includes how, when applied, it worked for the Wise One giving it. Most career guidance can and should be ignored.

6 - If you have a bad month don't try to catch up in the following month, divide the shortfall by the number of working days left in the year.

7 - Accept as fact most people, real people, do not care about Voice Over people, their work or anything else. When you "get over" your job and your voice you become the real you and that's good for everyone ...It also works miracles in your career.

8 - Best way to negotiate. "I am not in the business of spending money you don't have so tel me your budget and I will do my best to fit in"

9 - Best way to communicate and build relationships. Talk don't post.

10 - Health, happiness and prosperity is the CORRECT order for this year and every year.

My clear favorite is #55.

And no, that's not a typo...#55. Think on.

Looks like we all have our favorites here. I liked 9 and 10.

Another brilliant post Philip.

Thanks for the great and workable advice Philip, but a warning might be nice for #4. Think I might need a barf bag for the motion sickness as I decided to pump up my financial goals from 2012 despite income from this past year inflated by political stuff that won't be back in 2013. It's a leap, scary and nauseating, but also a little thrilling as well with a lot of that gut twisting you mention.
