I'm not sure where to post this request on this site. Does anyone know where I can get help with trouble shooting the problems I am having uploading mp3 files to ACX.com? I don't know how to allow the ACX website or IP address through the firewall in Vista Home Premium. Thanks. _________________ http://www.seniorvoiceovers.com

Ahhh Vista! That could be it becuase on occasion they have conflicts with certain operating systems. But because the most obvious answer is sometimes the one most quickly missed I'll ask: are you saving your mp3s in 192kbs 44.1 kHz 16bit? ANYTHING other than that will not pass their test.
If you're doing that and still having trouble then I would give them a call and get some help. They aren't too bad about helping with file uploads.
Good luck and let us know what the problem was...always curious as I do a lot with ACX. |

Andy: As the Staples ad for the red punch button said, "that was easy!!". I've wasted countless hours over the past 4 days dissecting my McAfee and Windows security spam ware on 3 different laptops. The file I was trying to upload was in 32 bit floating format. I converted it to 16 bit and it went through no problem. I re-read the ACX production guidelines and they only take 16 bit. Didn't know 32 bit file is like 4 times the size of a 16 bit file. Thanks so much for your help. I'm going to have to change my avatar to blind, deaf and dumb. Update: One file went, then next one didn't. Seems my Adobe Audition 5.5 does not convert the bit rate from 32 to 16 even though I save it to 16 bit. Others have complained of the same problem, so will be looking for a solution to that problem next. _________________ http://www.seniorvoiceovers.com

Andy: Very much so. Many thanks to those who have gone before. As a final update to this saga, I wasn't logging in and out of their website every time. I find that if I log out after each session of chapter uploads, that by logging back in and establishing a secure connection to their server (https://)seems to eliminate the problem I was having with Windows thinking I was under attack by a virus. Am happily submitting Chapters and back on the road again. I hate those silly speed bumps that slow me down. Thanks again. _________________ http://www.seniorvoiceovers.com
