I got this in an email overnight:

Quote:
Hi, Bruce. Just about four years ago we had you audition for the attached script also included in the body of the email. The client's finally going to produce the spots. The market is W___. I still have your audition read, which we liked very much. Can you give me a quote, if you're interested? Thanks much.
(emphasis mine)

Auditions. We send 'em and forget 'em. But sometimes they don't.

Wow! That's insane! Insanely cool! Do you remember the gig or still have the audition somewhere? I guess they could send it to you if you needed it for reference. I hope it's a payday worth a four year wait for you! Smile

That is a seriously motivating story to keep a positive attitude and to keep working hard. Thanks for sharing, Bruce.

As long as the check doesn't take four years.

This may be the first time - ever - that a post here actually made me LOL. Cool beans, and thanks for sharing this, Bruce.

That's great, Bruce.

I had a similar thing happen: I sent a demo to a multimedia production agency also four years ago (September '0cool, and never heard from them until they contacted me in late 2012 to do a corporate narration.

And wouldn't it be sorta funny if when Bruce submits the spots they come back and say "oh, uh.... we didn't realize your voice had changed so much!"
