LOL, no offense taken!! That gave me a good chuckle, because I think you're exactly right about us youngsters. (I'm 28 )
You're spot on about the Klipsch S4's, they ARE bass heavy. I had no idea how much so until I bought the X10's. Night and Day difference. The X10 earbuds are phenomenal because they give such a much more true musical resolution than the entry S4's.
But I found myself really disappointing when there was hardly any bass in comparison, and I thought something was wrong with them. I even thought about returning them. But gradually I started to get this this thing called a 'refined musical palette' and noticed a huge difference in ACTUAL musical quality with the X10's. They tell me it's the same way with Red Wine...
The song that opened my eyes to the actual stark differences between the two was Dream Theater's, 6:00. Jeremy Riddle's album Full Attention is also a superbly mixed album. And really well recorded gregorian chant, like The Cistercian Monks of Stift Heiligenkreuz, shine on the X10's.
Now that I've 'graduated' from needing the bass heavy earbuds, the X10's are my go to main music ear pieces. I think you would be much more pleased with these than the S4's if you ever get a chance to try/buy them down the road |

I just got a new cordless phone with this feature -- and another feature I am loving: call blocking. I can block up to 30 numbers; one ring and then they get hung up on. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

Lee, my new phone has that as well! I am over the moon with joy at being able to block persistent telemarketers!!
Zach, I've realized recently that most speakers and even some headphones need time to break in before they are fully functional. Maybe your X10s really did sound a bit thin at first, actually. And our music tastes may not be all that different. I dig old school prog-rock and psychadelic, sorta like Dream Theater, and I just downloaded a Gregorian Chant MP3 album from Amazon for almost nothing - very soothing music, and I might actually be able to *work* while listening to it (I find most music that I enjoy to be too involving and therefore distracting). _________________ Best regards,

Tom,
Agree to agree, non-distracting music is a must for me when i'm doing motion graphics/video work if I want to stay in that creative flow. |
